Dr. Andrea Capachietti is a humanitarian aid consultant and university lecturer specializing in global health, human rights, and refugee resettlement, with particular interest in women's rights, child protection, and health inequalities during armed conflict. Through her academic appointments and consulting work with non-governmental organizations, she examines the intersection of geopolitical change, global health policy, and humanitarian response, with an emphasis on improving health outcomes for vulnerable populations.

Dr. Capachietti has conducted needs assessments for medical facilities requesting humanitarian assistance, supported medical evacuations, and participated in family tracing and reunification programs. She continues to provide training and technical support to organizations working to advance health, human rights, and protection for underserved communities affected by conflict and displacement.

Her field experience has contributed to the development of multidisciplinary, action-oriented teams that strengthen local capacity, engage diverse stakeholders, and respond to the evolving needs of civilian populations. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in health sciences from Boston University, which laid the academic foundation for her master's and doctoral degrees at the University of Southern California. She subsequently completed advanced postdoctoral training in humanitarian assistance, refugee policy and law, forced migration studies, and health and human rights.

Her postdoctoral education includes the Oxford University Refugee Studies Program, the Harvard Program in Refugee Trauma's Global Mental Health: Trauma and Recovery training program, and the Women and Power: Leadership in a New World executive education program at Harvard Kennedy School.

Additional postdoctoral training includes an International Diploma in Humanitarian Assistance from the Center for International Health and Cooperation in Geneva, Switzerland, and a Certificate in Health and Human Rights from Harvard University. She has also completed refugee assistance training sponsored by the American Red Cross, the International Rescue Committee, and the United States Institute of Peace.
